Bio:

Professor William Rantz holds a Ph.D. in Psychology-Applied Behavior Analysis from Western Michigan University. He earned his first Master of Arts degree in Career and Technical Education and a second Master of Arts degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Operations. Dr. Rantz holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Certified Flight Instructor with Instrument and Multi-engine additions and an Advanced Ground Instructor certificate. He has experience in business/corporate flight operations and flight school management. He also experienced academic administration leadership of three different departments at Western Michigan University. Dr. Rantz is dedicated to repairing and enhancing working groups, improving team and crew performance, all derived from sound organizational behavior management research methods. His research investigates safety management systems, process systems analysis and human error and total performance improvement in low/high-risk environments. Dr. Rantz is a member of the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) and has been the Visiting Team Chair for many aviation programs. His current research interest is partnering with the WMU-Homer Stryker School of Medicine investigating checklist reading performance with first-year medical students.
