Experiential Learning

About

Management and Tech-Ops students may request to use AVS 3990 – Experiential Learning in place of their capstone course (AVS 4980 for Management or AVS 4630 for Tech-Ops). Approval from the Department Chair is required before registering. Flight Science students follow a different process (refer to guidelines below).

Experiential Learning Credit Guidelines

To begin the process, Aviation Management and Operations/Technical Operations students must complete the appropriate Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with their internship supervisor or employer. The MOA verifies that the internship experience will allow the student to meet the student learning outcomes associated with the capstone course.

Aviation Flight Science students follow a different process. AVS 3990 cannot be used as a substitute for the AVS 4120 capstone course. However, Flight Science students may apply AVS 3990 toward their career elective requirement if the internship meets program expectations. Students must complete the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with their internship supervisor.
