Canceling a Contract
Students wishing to cancel their housing contracts must submit a cancellation request. To do so, log into the housing portal and click on the "Contract/Lease Cancellation Request" link. Your request will be reviewed, and you will receive an email reply regarding your contract status. A cancellation fee may apply depending on when you cancel your contract and whether or not you are still attending Western Michigan University.

Enrolled and not enrolled status refers to a student's status during the terms of the contract. Not enrolled refers to students not registered for classes or no longer attending WMU.
Residence hall penalties apply even if the contract is signed after June 1. Apartment penalties apply even if the contract is signed after the initial due date.
