About Our Internship Program:

Here at Amway, our interns develop through real world experience and are assigned meaningful projects that challenge and allow for personal growth. Internship Eligibility: 

This job posting is for our summer 2020 Internship Program (May – August); qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern.

Internship Job Title: Aviation Maintenance Technician 

 

What is special about this team:  Aviation Maintenance, Entry Level Technician. Aviation Maintenance Technician to perform aircraft maintenance and service on the Corporate Aircraft in our Amway Fleet. With limited supervision, perform maintenance service tasks that follow the Alticor Inc., Repair Station Manual.  

 

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: The development of the interns provides the Senior Aircraft Technician the opportunity to mentor entry level technicians.  Training of real time aircraft maintenance will be provided to the interns by the Senior Aircraft Technician. There will be hands on experience working on corporate aircraft.   A project of tool control will be a side project for the interns, process and procedure development for general shop tooling and inventory systems for aircraft parts and hardware.   

 

An example of a typical project is:  Services, repairs, and performs overall maintenance of aircraft to ensure aircrafts are safe for flight and compliant with FAA regulations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing and servicing aircraft including engines, engine systems, and airframe components to ensure aircraft remains in safe operating condition. Services aircraft including fuel, tires, cleaning and grooming, restocking the aircraft, servicing waste and water and engine oil tanks Tests, adjusts and replaces parts such as tires, wiring, and instruments using various test equipment, technical diagrams, maintenance manuals, and mechanics' tools. Schedules and ensures timely completion of repairs and maintenance. Inspects and determines airworthiness of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts in compliance with specifications and applicable government regulations.  Performs preflight and post flight inspections ensuring that all inspection forms are accurately completed.

 

What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship: 

      Desired Skills: Some degree of mechanical aptitude. Self-Disciplined, Versatile, and Coachable. Computer software and program skill for Computerized Maintenance Programs.   Ensures documents and records are maintained. Coordinate and inspect parts. Functions at an Apprentice to Junior level. Possesses the basic skills and fundamental knowledge required to perform the positionModerate understanding of the general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and regulationsReceives instructions and close supervision, consistent with amount of on-the-job experienceWork is closely inspected for adherence to quality guidelines.

 

      Desired DegreeAviation Maintenance School/Collage Certified by FAR 137. Associated Degree working toward a BS in Aviation Maintenance Management. Aviation Maintenance Management, BS, Intern must be perusing an FAA rating for Aircraft and Powerplant License.
