Women in Aviation International is thrilled to offer the 2022 WAI scholarship program featuring a variety of career pursuits. Scholarships include funding to further members' interests in aerospace engineering, aviation maintenance, flight training, helicopter ratings, dispatch, and professional development. 

Applications are due October 12, 2021, and you must be an active WAI member by October 1, 2021, to apply. The 2022 scholarships will be awarded during the 33rd Annual International Women in Aviation Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, March 17-19, 2022.

Frontier Flight Training Scholarship

Frontier remains committed to ensuring that the Sky is for Everyone.  This $5,000 scholarship is intended for a female seeking advancement in professional aviation development towards a career as a professional airline pilot.  The recipient will be chosen on a basis of merit, career aspirations and dedication, as well as contributions to their community and service with WAI.
Must be a current full time Junior, Senior or Graduate student enrolled in an accredited collegiate aviation or aeronautical science program at application deadline.  Minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA, FAA Instrument rating, required.  FAA Commercial Certificate and FAA Multi-Engine Rating preferred.


Two letters of recommendation are required. One from a faculty member or flight instructor and one from a pilot who has flown with you, copies of pilot certificates, medical certificate and logbooks.
Essay describing career aspirations and goals, achievement/honors, aviation development to date, involvement with WAI, volunteerism, leadership and planned use of scholarship funds.
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to your flight school and training must be completed within one year.
