Women in Aviation Bluegrass Chapter Scholarship
Posted by Cadence Joan on August 10, 2022Women in Aviation Bluegrass Chapter, in conjunction with Louisville AWAM (Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance), is excited to announce a S1000 Girls in Aviation Day Maintenance/Engineering scholarship. The scholarship is open to women 15 years of age or older who are interested in seeking a degree in Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance Technology, or an A & P through an Aviation Technician Program.
This scholarship will be awarded at the Bluegrass Chapter Girls in Aviation Day at Bowman Field on September 10, 2022.
Deadline:
The application deadline is 11:59pm on August 25, 2022.
Applications MUST BE RECEIVED by this time.
Application Submission:
Applications may be submitted electronically by email to: BethHPhelps@gmail.com
Scholarship Application Requirements:
1. Cover page or resume with the following information: Name, address, school/work address, home phone/cell phone, email, school information including GPA
2. Two one-page recommendation letters
3. 500-1000-word essay addressing the following:
- Your aviation history and goals
- Who or what inspired your interest in aviation
- Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
- Educational scholarships, honors and awards
- Describe your most meaningful achievements
- Describe your community/school involvement
4. Copies of all aviation and medical certificates (if applicable)
*Finalists may be interviewed.
