The Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship
About:
The Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship was created in 2001 by NBAA Charities and the family and friends of the late Lawrence “Larry” Ginocchio to honor his outstanding personal contribution to the business aviation community. Named for a remarkable man whose strength of character inspired a high standard of caring in the aviation community, this scholarship recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated honesty, integrity and selflessness in their dealings with others. These individuals should possess a passion for aviation, as Larry Ginocchio did, and utilize their interest or involvement in business aviation to enhance the lives of others.
NBAA Charities and the family and friends of Lawrence Ginocchio annually award $4,500 to each of five undergraduate students enrolled at NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA) member institutions. Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. For all NBAA scholarships, applicants are limited to receiving one award per person, per year.
Award Amount: Five awards of $4,500 for educational costs
Notification/Award Period: Scholarship awarded during the fall at NBAA-BACE. Scholarship recipients must use the funds by Dec. 31st 2024, or risk forfeit of the award.
Application Deadline: August 13th 2023
Applicant Requirements:
- Full-time undergraduate students enrolled or accepted into an aviation management program at an two or four year school.
- Rising sophomore or higher standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Candidates should possess a passion for aviation and demonstrate honesty, integrity and selflessness.
- U.S. Citizen / Permanent Resident of the U.S.
- Applicant must submit complete application package, which consists of 1. Current Resume 2. Essay 3. Official Transcripts 4. Two signed letters of recommendation
- Completed application package must be submitted by the application deadline of August 13th 2023.
