Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship 2024
GlobalAir.com is passionate about supporting the future of aviation. Whether students are training to become a professional pilot who flies for a living or those who are training for the pure satisfaction of obtaining their license, we want to help them achieve their goals. The Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship will provide $1,000 annually to four American students who are dedicated to blogging on a weekly basis about flight training, flying, school, and their interest in aviation.
By partnering with students in university aviation programs throughout the United States, we hope to provide a scholarship that is beneficial to the student, as well as provide a platform for them to share their experiences while training for a successful future in the aviation industry.
The platform helps connect the student pilot with a large online aviation community of pilots, engineers, flight departments, as well as serve as act as a recruitment tool for the school itself.
Submissions will be accepted starting March 1, 2024. The deadline for application submissions is August 15, 2024.
Candidate Requirements:
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled in a fully accredited university aviation program (Commercial Aviation, Professional Pilot, Aviation Management, Airport Management, etc.) within the United States.
- Applicants must submit an essay explaining their interest in the career path they have chosen and how they plan to work towards
- their goals during the school year and demonstrate how they will stay consistent with the blog's weekly deadline.
- Applicants must be willing to write a 200-500 word blog post a minimum of once a week throughout the school year while at school (we would encourage students to continue with their blog after the school year has passed). Posts can be about aircraft, flying, ground training, weekend activities, internships, or anything that the student finds interesting and pertains to life in their particular aviation program.

Bloggers who are awarded the GlobalAir.com Student Scholarship must comply with these terms and conditions, or risk losing the monetary award.
Blog Content
Students are required to write a blog at least once a week. Anything more is completely acceptable, but will not give you extra scholarship funding. In addition, each blog post must also include a hyperlink to a page on the GlobalAir.com website. Examples include specific airports in our Airport Resource page, links to our Aviation Directory, or links to Aircraft for Sale pages.
This is where you are encouraged to get creative, have fun, and tell the world what you are passionate about.
Monetary Funds
The scholarship award of $1000 will be distributed in increments of $250 throughout the course of the academic year.
The scholarship curator will give you a schedule of payments if selected.
Essays will be evaluated by NBAA’s Business Aviation Management Committee (BAMC).
Notification Process
Applicants will be notified whether or not they’re recipients by August 26th 2024.
