Friday Feature: Naomi Griffin
Posted by Reina Cooke on November 4, 2019
Naomi Griffin is currently sophomore studying Tech Ops here at WMU. Originally from Ypsilanti, Michigan, she chose to come to WMU because of her experience at our summer camp while she was in high school. She loved the campus and resources available to her, and wanted a collegiate aviation program in Michigan.
Her favorite thing about WMU is all of the opportunities she is exposed to here. The fact that there are always companies coming out to recruit means she has tons of ways to get herself known. Since she wants to work in cargo or at a company like Duncan Aviation, this will absolutely help her reach her career goals. Specifically, her goal to have a focus on engine maintenance (although she’s just happy to be around planes!).
Naomi is also the Treasurer for the Association of Women in Aircraft Maintenance at WMU, as well as an Aviation Ambassador out at the airport. She has also taken her love for the summer camp program further by becoming a counselor for it as well!
