Job: Northern Jet Director of Operations

Responsibilities: 

• This position will work in a highly dynamic environment across all departments and will directly supervise employees. 

• Directs execution of company policies and procedures and ensures that company operations are conducted pursuant to applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, TSA Regulations, Company Operations Specifications and Company Policies and Procedures

• Will share, with the Chief Pilot, the responsibility and authority for final decisions with respect to the initiation, continuation, and termination of all air carrier flights conducted by Northern Jet Management under 135 operations. 

• Serving as the primary point of contact for all relevant stakeholders on matters involving aviation operations. Establish and maintain liaison with a wide range of officials from federal, state and local security and law enforcement partner agencies, as well as officials in the private sector involved with aviation. Ensure that airport security programs are developed within an interconnected network. 

• Direct activities in Operations by strengthening operations through powerful and adaptable detection capabilities, intelligence-driven operations and enhanced vetting. 

• Will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems 

• Serving as the principal advisor to entire company regarding aviation management, programs and federal regulation requirements and methods as they relate to the industry 

• Providing expert leadership to aviation personnel in the establishment of comprehensive aviation management programs  

• Determining, directing and managing strategic program plans and standards for aviation operations through the assessment of standards and procedures to address risk and the monitoring of adherence to and compliance with standards, requirements and regulations by entities including all airport authorities. 

• Act decisively to modify standards to enhance the security effectiveness of programs and policies and promote positive outcomes. 

• Ensures compliance dates are met for new regulations as they become effective and disseminates the information applicable to those regulations to appropriate personnel. 

• The Director of Operations shall be highly knowledgeable of all company manuals, FAA Regulations, NTSB Requirements, HMR 175, Operations Specifications, TSA Regulations, and all other information pertinent to his duties. 

• Establish and modify operational methods and processes by determining changes in materials, equipment, and procedures; develops and establishes departmental standards and practices. 

• Develops metrics/assessment tools to understand the overall performance of the organization and its teams. 

• Maintains oversight responsibility for effective implementation of the continuous improvement efforts of the organization and monitors results via business metrics/customer satisfaction. 

• Maintains oversight responsibility to ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements for physical plants, manufacturing processes, and service depot repair centers. 

• Performs other related duties as required. 

Job Requirements: 

 Highly knowledgeable of all maintenance sections contained in the General Operations Manual (GOM), the Company Operations Specifications, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, aircraft maintenance and inspection documents and all other documents necessary for the proper performance of his/her duties. 

 Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language in accordance with safety regulations. 

 Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. 

 At least 3 out of the past 6 years previous experience as a Corporate Pilot 

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. 

 Good leadership, organization, problem solving skills, and ability to work well with a team. 

 At least 18 years of age 

 Must be highly knowledgeable of FAA Regulations (FAR). 

 Personal on-going development. 

 To submit to an initial drug test along with random drug and alcohol testing in order to comply with safety guidelines.
