Two Educational Leadership Grants Held One-Week Summer Conference for About 200 School Leaders

August 26, 2015

The Learning-Centered Leadership Program and the Achievement-Centered Leadership Program hosted their annual summer conferences from July 27 to 31 in Traverse City for about two hundred attendees.  These participants--made up of principals, aspiring principals, and teacher leaders--presented their school renewal plans and provided examples of best practices going on in their schools.  The time spent together also included experts in the field from the Michigan Department of Education.  Most importantly, the conference provided school leaders and their teams much needed time to reflect on the successes and challenges from the past school year and plan future initiatives with the support of WMU faculty and staff for school year 2015-16.  The programs are funded by the US Department of Education through the department of Educational Leadership, Research and Technology.
