Katherine Daniels

Dr. Katie Daniels has taught in the Evaluation, Measurement and Research (EMR) program at Western Michigan University since 2018. She is a graduate of the program as well, earning her Ph.D. in EMR with an emphasis in measurement. She has used her expertise to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics and research methods; currently, she primarily teaches the fundamentals of evaluation, measurement and research. Aside from her teaching experience, Katie has 15 years of professional experience in higher education working in capacities as a Research Analyst, Curriculum Specialist, Director of Assessment, and Executive Director of Curriculum & Assessment in private and public, as well as 4 year and 2 year institutions. Prior to transitioning to higher education Katie worked in human services for non-profits and state government. The combination of her work experience, along with her expertise in evaluation, measurement, and research provided the basis for her consultancy. She is the founder and principal consultant at Social Innovation Design and Evaluation Strategies, a consulting firm focused on strategic development, process innovation, and high-quality evaluation for educational, human service, and social justice and equity oriented organizations.
