Flu Vaccine Appointments and Walk-in Availability 2026-27

Western Michigan University’s on-campus health center pharmacy offers seasonal influenza immunizations to students, full- and part-time employees, retirees and other eligible individuals (including dependents 12 and older). Vaccinations will be administered at the Pharmacy and on one day at the Student Center in the fall. COVID vaccination may be paired with a flu shot for immunizations scheduled at the health center location.

Flu-shot appointments and walk-in availability

Sindecuse Health Center Pharmacy staff will be administering a preservative-free vaccine starting Sept. 1, 2026. Patients age 65 and older will be given a high-dose vaccine. Appointments are available:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4:15 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4:15 p.m.

Walk-in customers may be accommodated during these times depending on availability.

It's easy to schedule an appointment to get a flu shot. Visit the patient portal, login and navigate to 'Appointments'. Select the checkbox for 'Immunizations' option to start. When making an appointment on the patient portal, carefully choose the kind of immunization(s) you are seeking. You may choose to receive both the COVID and influenza vaccination at the same appointment.

Outreach and drop-in clinics

There will be three drop-in clinics in the fall administering flu shots without the need for an appointment:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sindecuse Health Center Pharmacy
  • Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Student Center from 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. WMU employees and students are invited on the same day as the Employee Benefits Expo.
  • Friday, Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sindecuse Health Center Pharmacy

Drop-in attendees should bring an I.D. and a copy of their insurance card (photos of the card on your phone showing both sides is acceptable).

Most insurances cover the cost of influenza vaccination with no copay or out-of-pocket cost. For those patients without insurance, the cost of flu shots is

  • Single dose (Flucelvax): $65
  • High dose (Fluad): $120
  • COVID (Pfizer Comirnaty):  $260.

The pharmacy staff at Sindecuse Health Center offer a wide range of common immunizations, including RSV, Meningitis, Varicella, MMR, Tdap, and more. Ask a pharmacist or your physician if you have questions about which ones are recommended for you.
